What you need:
~2 players
~blank sheet of paper for each kid( or use our printable license plate game state list template)
~ pen or pencil
~ surface to write on( place paper upon)
Object of the game?
Estimating whether there will be more licence plates ending ih even or ending in odd numbers in a given time space
How to play this travel game:
~ each child has a piece of paper, a pen and a sturdy surface ( can be a book or laptray)
~ agree a time limit for the duration of the kid game ( 10 minutes is a good start)
~ Explain the rules, and let one kid count even numbers and one kid count odd numbers ticking them as they go along ( swap at the next game)
~when the time is up count the number of car licence plates they spotted
Fun Options:
~ for older kids make it more difficult ~ ie spot all licence plates that have the last number as odd but also contain the letter "A" etc
~ spot only trucks and lorries with odd /even numbers
~ for travel games for toddlers use colors, count who can see the most red/blue cars etc, let an older kid take notes
| ~ if are traveling with children that are into numbers see who can add the numbers up the fastest in the license plate game
~ older kids can subtract or multiply too, or a combination of both |

Object of the game?
~ to spot as many different license plates as possible
~ be a license tracker - keep note of states, provinces , countries
~ in foreign countries you may not be able to indentify states as the system works differently so you can substitute with makes of cars
How to play this travel game:
~ clarify beforehand what you are spotting and how to keep tracking notes and then set a time lmit in which to track the cars
~ this travel game can be played over longer periods if kids dont get bored with it ( some kids really love cars and can spent ages absorbed hunting down the different models)
Fun Options:
~count the number of cars that display a flag symbol and bonus points of you can draw the flag and identify the country
~ for older kids: identify the most car types for a particular state or province
~ for toddler travel games: spot the most lorries,trucks,pick ups,motor bikes etc
~ when you need a break stop at at parking place and let the kds to a quick "Car Park Tracking hunt" to stretch their legs
| ~ vary the rules
~ Only plates from private passenger vehicles count.
~ No license plates from commercial vehicles are allowed.
~ Any non Us License Plate is a Tie Breakers. ( if two player have the same amount of plates)
~ Print out a Map of the Us and identify the correct location of the states the kids spotted
